Winstanley student joins netball Super League
A student from Winstanley College in Wigan has been selected for the Netball Super League team, Leeds Rhinos.
Daisy Dixon, a former Standish High School student, has been chosen for the team’s U19 NPL squad.
This squad trains twice a week in Leeds.
Leeds Rhinos Netball delivers training hubs, camps and workshops across their region.
They joined the Vitality Netball Superleague in 2021.
Daisy will be playing all over the country against other Super League teams.
This is also while she is studying for A-levels in maths, chemistry and PE.
Daisy is also vice captain of Winstanley College’s netball team, which has also been successful so far.
The college has won three out of three netball games so far.
Sarah Gough, netball coach at Winstanley College said: “To be selected for Leeds Rhinos is a huge achievement and testament to Daisy’s talent, and work ethic.
“I know Daisy will go from strength to strength and has a very bright future in front of her.”
