UK and Ukraine universities #TwinforHope
Last Thursday, Universities UK (UUK) launched their #TwinforHope campaign, which featured a live streamed video of staff from Ukrainian universities.
The video was broadcast on UUK’s twitter account, which has over 100,000 followers.
The video showcases some of the powerful stories of dedicated Ukrainian university staff and explores the positive impact of the partnerships between UK and Ukrainian universities.
Serhiy Shkarlet, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, addressed the audience at the conference after the live streaming of the #TwinforHope video.
UUK have partnered up with Cormack Consultancy Group to provide support to students and staff impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in the form of twinning partnerships between UK and Ukrainian universities.
These ‘twins’ provide practical, emotional and long-term support, such as rebuilding campuses and sharing academic resources, to welcoming Ukrainian staff and students to the UK to allow teaching and learning to continue.
UUK said these incredible partnerships are already delivering invaluable impact.
With more than 75 universities taking part in the #TwinforHope campaign, UUK are currently gathering first-hand testimonies with spokespeople who are willing to speak to the media about their experiences.
