The Studio School earns Artsmark Gold Award
Amidst a landscape where many educational institutions are scaling back their support for the arts, The Studio School stands as a beacon of artistic excellence and commitment in the Liverpool City Region.
The school’s dedication to fostering creativity and nurturing artistic talent has been recognised with the prestigious Artsmark Gold Award, bestowed upon The Studio by the esteemed Arts Council.
This award serves as validation of the school’s unwavering belief in the transformative power of the arts in education. While other schools may be cutting back on their art curriculum and resources, The Studio has remained steadfast in its mission to provide unparalleled opportunities for students to explore, create, and thrive in the world of art.
Receiving the Artsmark Gold Award is not merely a symbol of achievement; it is a testament to the tireless efforts of faculty, staff, and students who continually push the boundaries of artistic expression. It reflects The Studio’s comprehensive approach to arts education, encompassing a diverse array of disciplines including visual arts, performing arts, and digital media.
At The Studio School, it is understood that the arts are not just an extracurricular pursuit but a fundamental aspect of holistic education. Through the school’s commitment to the arts, staff empower students to cultivate creativity, critical thinking, and empathy—skills that are essential for success in both their academic endeavours and personal growth.
Last year, 100% secured a Level 4 or above in art, graphics, and photography GCSE, and The Studio is now ranked in the top five sixth forms (by results) in Liverpool.
Destinations of sixth formers included Falmouth University to study illustration, Leeds Arts University to study comic and concept art, illustration, and fine art; Manchester Metropolitan University to study interior design; and the University of Bolton to study photography.
