SupplyWell and The Gunn Charitable Trust join forces to boost education resources across Liverpool
SupplyWell has proudly announced significant contributions from the Gunn Charitable Trust, enabling the digital recruitment platform to support its partner schools in initiatives aimed at enhancing educational resources and providing support to students across the North West.
The generous donations have been allocated to various impactful initiatives, primarily focusing on reading programmes and wellbeing support for students.
The partnership has also awarded grants to four inaugural multi-academy trusts (MATs): All Saints Multi Academy Trust, Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust, Pope Francis Catholic MAT, and Southport Learning Trust. As a result, over 40 schools have received additional support and funding.
One inspiring example of how these funds are being used is at Pope Francis Catholic MAT, where its schools have introduced a reading initiative encouraging students to access the library before, during, and after school.
Managed by the trust’s teaching assistants, this initiative forms part of its Lexonik Leap programme, offering additional reading lessons to help boost literacy and foster a love for learning among students.
Another key recipient, Southport Learning Trust, has expressed deep gratitude for the financial support, which will make a real difference to establishing a Southport-based alternative provision for disengaged students across the trust.
Ian Parry, director of education at Southport Learning Trust, commented: “Throughout the country, we are experiencing a significant increase in the number of young people with a range of challenges in successfully accessing the mainstream curriculum in Key Stage 3.
“The vision of our new alternative provision is to reignite the dreams and aspirations of students who have disconnected with mainstream school. Through a creative personalised curriculum, students will explore their futures while developing the skills and attributes to make their aspirations a reality.”
Ian added: “The support from SupplyWell will enable us to provide more opportunities and resources to our pupils and go a long way in helping us to remove barriers, ensuring every student can access the education they deserve.”
Michael Heverin, co-founder and CEO of SupplyWell, said: “We are immensely grateful to the Gunn Charitable Trust for their generosity, which is helping us to make a real difference in the lives of students.
“Since SupplyWell was founded, we’ve been on a mission to create a fairer future in education and are always looking for new ways to help schools create environments where every student can thrive.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the Gunn Charitable Trust for their unwavering support, which allows us to extend our impact across the North West and beyond.”
The Gunn Charitable Trust shared: “We’re proud to be able to support multi academy trusts across the Liverpool City Region through our partnership with SupplyWell.
“At the Gunn Charitable Trust, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed and by working together we’re helping to break down barriers and providing resources and support to help them thrive in their education. It’s inspiring to see the positive impact this collaboration is having on young people and we’re excited to continue working with SupplyWell to ensure every student has the chance to reach their full potential.”
SupplyWell and the Gunn Charitable Trust are excited to continue their commitment to supporting MATs across the North West and, together, are looking forward to awarding further generous donations in the near future.
