Showcase your talented Year 6 and Year 9 artists!
dot-art Schools is an interactive, online, inter-school art competition which culminates in an exhibition of the winning artworks in the city centre. Arts professionals shortlist entries and the public vote to select the winners. The competition is open to both primary (year 6) and secondary (year 9) schools in the six boroughs of the Liverpool City Region. It is designed to nurture talent, raise ambition, and take art out of the classroom and into the real world.
Since 2012 over 2,500 children from over 80 Primary and Secondary schools in the Liverpool City Region have participated. Entering the competition is a valuable way to raise the profile of your school, show it’s commitment to creativity, and involve students families.
Susan M Coles our Guest Judge and President of the National Society for Education in Art & Design in 2014 remarked “Schools are under such pressure these days, so events like this are so very important- they highlight and showcase, celebrate and share…”
Teachers comment that participating has increased their students’ confidence and given them a real sense of pride. dot-art Schools also offers a great way of keeping young people engaged with the arts, allows them to see a creative career path, and encourages them to attend exhibitions and engage with culture, outside of school.
Interested? Act now – Schools need to sign up by 16th December 2015!
