Royal appointment for Calday Grammar
Calday Grammar School was delighted when His Royal Highness, The Duke of York, visited the school to present 97 of their students with their Bronze Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award.
The Duke of York, who is an active ambassador for educations and skills in the UK, founded the Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (known as iDEA) with the aim of equipping young people with digital and enterprise skills to help inspire them for their future careers and to unlock their potential.
The school participated in this award because it provides a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain a recognised qualification in digital literacy and to learn new enterprise skills that will help to set them up for success in the world of work.
Headteacher, Mr Rodaway said: “We were surprised and delighted when HRH the Duke of York offered to visit the school and personally present the certificates to our students in recognition of their achievement of the Bronze iDEA award.
“The iDEA programme is part of a suite of opportunities that the school provides in support of its long-standing mission statement of ‘developing the whole person’ and we were thrilled to hear that we have the highest number of Bronze completions from a single institution in the world.
“I am extremely proud of all the students who achieved their award and we will continue to encourage other year groups to participate in this valuable programme.”
