Return of the College’s Patron Saint
After an absence of four years Archbishop Beck Catholic College are delighted to announce that the statue of the college’s Patron Saint has been restored to a prominent place on the college campus.
Visitors to the college will be welcomed in vision, prayer and thought by the statue of St Bonaventure.
This statue has been a part of the college’s foundation for over 60 years. Firstly, on one of the outside walls of the then newly built St Bonaventure’s Catholic High School on Cedar Road in 1960 and then taken inside the college buildings when later additions were made to the fabric of the college.
Now after some restoration it proudly sits at the entrance to our college campus.
Headteacher, Paul Dickinson said: “This is a wonderful part of our history, one that over the last 60 years has shown us to be a community that has served the local area with great dedication.
“We trace our foundation back to 1960 firstly, as St Bonaventure’s Catholic High School and now in our present day foundation as Archbishop Beck Catholic College.
“Like any great school we are immensely proud of our alumni.”
