Registrations now open for ultimate reading day
Spend the day in pyjamas, read much-loved stories and discover new ones while raising money for the UK’s largest children’s reading charity.
Pyjamarama is an inclusive and easy way to promote and celebrate the magic of reading in a school, community group or at home.
BookTrust’s mission is to get children reading regularly and by choice because research shows that children who read are happier, healthier, more empathetic, more creative, and they also do better at school.
The money raised will go to ensuring as many children as possible experience the worlds of wonder that books provide.
Mr Pocknell from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary School said: “Pyjamarama is the perfect reading puzzle piece, bringing our school together in a celebration of reading.
“From dressing up in PJs to cross-year reading sessions, it not only encourages a vital life skill but also provides valuable insights into the children’s reading preferences.
“With its well-organised structure and BookTrust’s resources, Pyjamarama naturally fits into our school, making it a cherished annual event that teachers and children eagerly anticipate.”
After registration, participants will be fully supported by BookTrust, given access to the range of exclusive activities, resources and video content – all to ensure the Pyjamarama experience is as simple, interactive and enjoyable as possible, while allowing groups to create their own unique day of reading fun.
BookTrust will celebrate Pyjamarama day on May 17, but groups can choose a day that works for them.
