Race for the sky

Back in July, Maricourt Catholic High School students released 300 balloons in their 2017 Balloon Race.
Students bought a balloon with the chance of winning £50 worth of Liverpool One vouchers. The balloon that landed the furthest distance away and had the attached ticket returned to school by 1st September was the winning balloon.
All of the monies raised will be used for the purchase of PE equipment for Maricourt’s brand new refurbished outdoor tennis and netball courts.
The successful winner was Year 8 pupil Dylan Carvalho. His balloon was the furthest to travel with an impressive 108 miles away in Sheffield.
The event was organised by the Maricourt PE department and they would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event, which was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
