Primary school teacher’s kind act goes viral after crocheting entire class

A primary school teacher’s crocheting skills have gone viral after she crocheted personalised dolls for all 30 of her Year 3 pupils.

Sara Shabir, from East Oxford, said the idea came when she was deciding what to do for her class who she adores. She said she wanted to do something exciting and special.

Each doll took about eight hours to crochet, which was about 240 hours in total. Sara said it was all worth it to see the children’s reactions.

Sara said: “I taught myself to crochet during the Covid lockdown and have been creating things since then, so I wanted to push myself and make these dolls to build my skills as a crocheter.

“I enjoy giving myself little projects to work on.”

One post from a happy parent on X has received one million impressions.
