Picture perfect pupils
Staff and pupils from Plantation Primary School in Halewood recently set up an art gallery to showcase their artistic talents. The art gallery was set up by the schools performing arts leader, Ben Palmer to raise the profile of art in the school and give the children the opportunity to celebrate their high quality work.
Ben said: “Every child from across the school (nearly 550 pictures) created a piece of art based on a specific artist. In class, they learnt about that artist, where he or she was from and where they got their influences from.
“They then looked at a range of artwork from that artist and based their work on his/her style.
“The children were given the chance to see their pictures in the gallery and the parents were able to buy their child’s work.
“It was a roaring success and both children and parents really enjoyed the experience”.
