North West education institutions striving for gender equality
An index has been launched to comprehensively analyse gender equality in workplaces across the UK.
The Equity Index 2024 by Lead5050 uses data analysis to spotlight the companies leading the way in achieving gender parity.
The Equity Index 2024 delves into the gender pay gap across more than 10,000 companies, using a unique algorithm that evaluates salaries, bonuses, and pay scales at every organisational level.
This approach provides a nuanced view of gender equality, far beyond traditional median pay gap statistics.
This year’s Index includes both large organisations (those with over 250 employees) and a number of smaller companies that have voluntarily submitted their gender pay data.
The result is a detailed and dynamic picture of gender equality in the workplace.
Organisations are given a score out of 100, based on the mean pay gap, median pay gap, bonus pay gap, and gender representation across the pay scales. The closer an organisation is to 100, the closer they are to gender parity.
Two North West Multi Academy Trusts (MATs) have been ranked in the Equity Index 2024 top 10 MATs. These include Lydiate Learning Trust in Liverpool (ranked number 5, with a score of 75) and Seashell Trust in Stockport (ranked number 7, with a score of 73).
Other impressive educational institutions were ranked. These include:
- Sedburgh School with a score of 90 (ranked 69 out of 10761 organisations)
- Autism Initiatives with a score of 88
- Royal Northern College of Music with a score of 85
- Skills and Work Solutions Limited with a score of 81
