Maricourt celebrate successful year with A-level and BTEC results
All of the hard work and sacrifice paid off for Year 13 students at Maricourt Catholic Sixth Form Centre, Maghull, on Level 3 results day.
There has been an increase in the number of A* and A grades at the school, with 25 per cent of grades being at least A* – B. In vocational subjects, there is continued success, with over 50 per cent of grades being a distinction* or distinction.
The sixth form is proud of the achievements of all students, with over 80 per cent gaining their university place at both local and national universities. One student, Max Robinson, gained three A* grades in maths, further maths and computer science.
Students who joined Marciourt just for the sixth form – having studied their GCSEs at another school – also performed well and will be going to their chosen universities.
Maricourt staff said it has been a pleasure to both work with this year’s Year 13 cohort and to see students’ individual journeys and progression as they ‘battled the rigour of sixth form study to gain the grades’ that were celebrated on 15 August. Staff wished all students luck for the future as they embark on their next stage.
