Great Sankey High School Year 11 results a great success story
Students from Great Sankey High School are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results.
Over 78% of students achieved the key benchmark, 5 GCSE grades at 4 or above, including English and maths. Over a quarter of the grades awarded were at the highest level of 9-7.
Mrs Christina Kane, deputy headteacher said: “Our Year 11 students have worked extremely hard and have shown great resilience and determination to succeed. They have achieved excellent outcomes, despite the disruption to their education since they were in Year 9.
“It has been fabulous to see our students celebrating today, reaping the rewards for their efforts over the past five years. These superb results will enable the class of 2022 to progress successfully to the next stage of their education.
“We are absolutely delighted that many of our students have chosen to continue their studies in our sixth form, Barrow Hall College. We are incredibly proud of all of our students and wish them every success for the future”
Mr Gary Evans, newly appointed headteacher said: “These are a superb set of results, with excellent outcomes across the full range of subjects. Students and staff should be extremely proud of their achievements. Great Sankey truly is an improving school, and I am incredibly excited to be joining as the new headteacher next week.”
