GCSE success for St Margaret’s CE Academy
St Margaret’s Academy is celebrating another year of excellent achievement as students pick up their GCSE results today.
72% of students will leave Year 11 having achieved the Government benchmark of at least a ‘C’ grade in English and maths, which is 2% higher than last year.
It has been a fantastic year of achievement, with the top 10 students amassing a total of 33 A* grades and 48 A grades between them.
Principal Stephen Brierley, said: “This is a fantastic achievement by all concerned. Following on from a great set of post-16 results last week, I am thrilled that our Year 11 students have achieved so highly too.
“Some students have worked very hard to achieve C grades in English and maths, and we are equally delighted they have achieved that benchmark.
“Congratulations to all our pupils, and many thanks too to all the teachers and support staff who have helped make these results possible.”
