Christmas markets to spread cheer at Rainford High

Rainford High is looking to move forward and spread some positivity at its upcoming Christmas markets.

After a huge clean-up operation following a recent break-in, staff and students are now gearing up for the markets, which are taking place on Thursday, 7 December.

Local residents, parents, carers, students and staff are invited to come together to enjoy some festive fun at the Rainford High Christmas markets between 5:30pm – 7:30pm.

An array of activities is to be expected, including creative craft stalls, fun and games for the whole family, and a fantastic selection of food and drink.

There will also be a magical, festive grotto where children can meet Father Christmas himself.

An annual occurrence at Rainford High, the markets will act as a charity event, with the aim to make a difference and raise money to support local charities during the season of goodwill.

Various businesses from within the area have also contributed to the event, donating items for a spectacular Christmas raffle and setting up stalls, with the proceeds going to charity.

Principal of Rainford High, Mr Ian Young, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our upcoming Christmas markets after what has been an upsetting time for the Rainford High community. I’m extremely proud and grateful for how the wider community came together in support of our school, and I would like to thank each and every person for their kind messages.

“Despite everything that has happened, we aren’t letting this put a dampener on things, and the Christmas markets will be a great event that is sure to get people into the festive spirit.”

Mr Young added: “It’s very important that our school plays its part to give back and support those in need. Our ethos is ‘Everyone Matters, Everyone Helps and Everyone Succeeds’, and we aspire to live these out in all that we do at Rainford High.”
