Alsop gives ‘taste of Spain’ at open evening
Alsop High School, Walton, recently held a successful open evening with a taste of Spain.
The Modern Languages faculty at the school re-created an authentic eating house called ‘Alsop Casa de Comidas’.
Students served a huge paella prepared by a local restaurant to prospective parents, carers and young people.
People were also served a variety of tapas dishes.
Ms Allison, head of modern languages at Alsop High School, said: “We wanted our visitors to have a real taste of the language and culture of Spain.
“Authentic food served by Alsop students was well received by our guests and diners.
“It was a great opportunity to showcase the fantastic work of the department, and highlight the achievements of students, who have used the subject as a springboard to gain places at university and move on to successful careers.”
Many people attended the evening.
Alsop headteacher, Mr Paul Masher, addressed a packed hall.
He spoke of how Alsop is a caring, supportive, and truly amazing school.
Mr Masher also outlined how Alsop is on a journey to excellence and how the school motto “Achieving Excellence Together” embraces this vision.
The school is offering guided tours to parents and carers who may have missed the Open Evening.
