Calling all schools: Win a pizza making experience for World Food Day

In celebration of World Food Day on 16 October, there will be an exciting opportunity for schools to win a pizza making experience thanks to not-for-profit community interest company, Rethink Food.

The Planet Pizza Challenge is designed to engage students in learning about climate change, sustainability, and healthy eating through the fun and creativity of pizza making.

Students are encouraged to design a pizza that represents their understanding of climate change and sustainability in the challenge. It not only aims to spark creativity but also deepen children’s awareness of how food choices can impact the planet.

Schools are encouraged to participate as the challenge offers a dynamic way to incorporate discussions about the climate and sustainability into the classroom. The school with the most innovative and sustainable pizza design will be able to create their own delicious, climate-friendly pizzas with the pizza-making experience – a memorable and education event for pupils.

Rethink Food also provides a suite of free educational resources to help guide the challenge, including a short film, online game and activities that make it easy to integrate into the curriculum.

There are three steps for schools to get involved:

1. Watch the video by clicking here.

2. Have students design a pizza that showcases their ideas for a sustainable future

3. Play the game and share your school’s pizza designs here for a chance to win the pizza making experience.
