Schools shortlisted at St Helens Borough Business Awards
Two St Helens schools have been shortlisted at this year’s St Helens Borough Business Awards to take place on Friday 15 October at the Totally Wicked Stadium, St Helens.
Rainford High School Partnership and St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School have both been shortlisted for the Education & Business Partnership Award, whilst Rainford High School has also been shortlisted in the Diversity & Inclusion Award catergory.
Catherine Twist, headteacher at St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School, said: “As always we are so proud to be shortlisted for an award which shows off the hard work and dedication our students, staff and wider community continue to put in.
“We are particularly proud to be recognised in the first year of these awards and in a year, where as a whole community, we have continued to show our strength and determination to keep going.”
Rachel Collins, head of business services at St Helens Chamber, said: “We had a fantastic response to the awards and the judging panel was left with a very difficult task, but we have a very strong shortlist and all the businesses, schools and students who entered should be proud of their achievements. We are now looking forward to announcing the winners at the award ceremony which promises to be a glamorous celebration of our wonderful businesses and our people.”
Cllr Kate Groucutt, cabinet member for business, education and skills at St Helens Borough Council, said: “It is fantastic that so many businesses and students across St Helens Borough have achieved so much despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“By celebrating their successes and shining a spotlight on the entrepreneurship and innovation that is happening in our borough, we can inspire the next generation and encourage more businesses to set up or relocate here. Everyone who entered should be proud of the contribution they are making to our community.”
The winners in each category will be unveiled at a glamourous Awards Ceremony, taking place on Friday 15 October at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
The winning businesses in the national awards categories will be entered into the British Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, which will take place in December.
