FA Cup draw comes to Knowsley
Two Year 6 pupils from Park Brow Primary School in Kirkby today had the honour of making the draw for the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup as the famous trophy made a whistle-stop visit to Knowsley.
Under the watchful eye of FA officials, Year 6 pupils Lily-May Fulton and head girl Lilah Wright made the last sixteen selections with Everton Ladies handed an away tie at Lewes with Liverpool Ladies also facing a lengthy coach journey to Chichester City.
Following the draw, Liverpool Ladies goalkeeper, Siobhan Chamberlain, held a special coaching session, which was filmed by the BBC for the Match of the Day Kickabout programme, which is broadcast on CBBC.
Kerstine Hogg, who works for the Knowsley Schools Sports partnership, said: “It is a tremendous honour for Park Brow to have been chosen to host the draw and absolutely fantastic to have the BBC cameras here also. It really has been an amazing morning.”
