Open call for talented young musicians and singers!
Could you be part of the next generation of Liverpool Philharmonic talent?
Young musicians and singers from across the North West are being encouraged to come forward to join the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company.
The Youth Company comprises of Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and Youth Choir and gives young people aged 13-23 the opportunity to play in ensembles such as Liverpool Philharmonic Big Band, Brass Band and chamber music groups.
The Youth Company is now recruiting for the next generation of talent and is calling on the region’s young people to apply before the deadline on Friday 31 March 2017.
Those who join Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (for musicians aged 13-23) can learn new music and skills with coaching from Royal Philharmonic Orchestra musicians, and perform across the UK, led by artistic director Simon Emery.
Workshops and master classes with internationally renowned visiting artists also take place, alongside the opportunity to perform a concerto as a soloist with the Youth Orchestra.
If singing is more your forte, then the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir (for singers aged 13-18) is a fantastic opportunity to sing in high-profile concerts and special events, including premieres of new music.
The Youth Choir has performed for Liverpool Philharmonic’s Patron HM The Queen and sang at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Described as a ‘fantastic’ and ‘rewarding’ experience by Youth Company members, joining either the Youth Orchestra or Choir also gives young people access to the company’s different activities and opportunities.
Most recently, members have benefited from masterclasses led by violinists Nicola Benedetti and James Ehnes, conductor Andrew Manze and conductor and trombonist Christian Lindberg.
