Victorious St Bertelines
St Bertelines CE Primary were celebrating their success after being named champions in the Halton Quadkids Champions 2015 in the Halton Primary Quadkids Athletics Competition held at the Halton Athletics Academy.
The event is based on a quadrathlon competition format with every pupil in the school team competing in four different events; this results in a cumulative team score.
School teams were made up of four boys and four girls from Years 5 and 6. The four scoring events include a 75m sprint, a 600m run, vortex howler throw and a standing long jump.
Andy O’Neill, Year 6 teacher said, “We have a particularly talented Year 6 who have put a lot into their training this year and it has paid off for them.
“We are very proud of the effort of each and every one of them.”
Event co-ordinator, Karen Drake, said: “The individual top three ranking pupils all achieved a Gold UK Athletics Award rating. It was also great to see the individual achievements being shared across so many different schools.”
